PI Tides and Waves for the National Weather Service River Forecast System
Three main goals will be addressed over a three-year period with an emphasis on real-time forecasting: 1) To develop a modeling domain that incorporates the entire East Coast of the United States, Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea, while zeroing in on the St. Johns River area. 2) To employ output from a wind-driven short wave model with a long wave finite element model and produce a uni-directional coupling of the two models. 3) To fully couple the short wave model with the long wave finite element model. Funded by NOAA through the NWS Office of Hydrologic Development. 2004 to 2008

PI Design Hurricane Storm Surge Pilot Study
Examination of the effects of inlet characteristics on storm tide hydrographs. Funded by the Florida Department of Transportation through the University of Florida . 2004 to 2005
